Using AI to Defend against AI – Digital Chess

Artificial intelligence is creating a new attack surface across the enterprise. AI models, copilots, agents, APIs, RAG pipelines, plugins, sensitive data sources, and autonomous workflows are increasingly connected to the same systems attackers want to reach. Traditional penetration testing was not designed to evaluate these layers independently or understand how weaknesses can be chained together into a real compromise.

Join ECS and fellow security leaders in Chicago for Defending AI with AI: Digital Chess, an executive discussion on how organizations can secure the rapidly expanding AI attack surface before adversaries exploit it.

We will explore how ECS helps organizations discover, attack, and harden their AI environments by identifying authorized and shadow AI services, mapping exposure across models, applications, infrastructure, data, and agents, and applying adversarial testing techniques that mirror how an AI-native attacker would operate.

The discussion will examine real-world attack paths including prompt injection, authentication and authorization bypass, exposed APIs, insecure RAG pipelines, excessive agent permissions, sensitive data exposure, and manipulation of AI-connected tools and workflows. We will also discuss how autonomous testing, AI-assisted offensive security, and human Red Team expertise can work together to validate whether these weaknesses can lead to business impact. The objective is not simply to find vulnerabilities. It is to understand what an attacker can reach, how they can get there, and what should be fixed first.

Following my brief for a roundtable targeting ‘CRM for the luxury sector’, Nic’s team was quick to secure a full house of participants matching our ideal Buyer Persona. I was impressed by the speed of cold outreach and their communication cadence with participants. The event host, Andrew, had clearly built rapport with participants in advance, and as a result, facilitated the technology discussion and individual contributions with ease. All participants who attended agreed to a follow-up meeting after the event, so I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet individuals separately. If you’re new to running this type of event, I recommend speaking to the experienced, personable team at Convergex.
